Vacation

Posted in About Me at 10:13 pm by Administrator

July 17-20, Took 2 granddaughters, my daughter-in-law and hubby to Mackinaw Island.  Debbie has never been there before and the girls would enjoy seeing the horses and riding the bikes.

The day we were suppose to go on the island it rained the entire day and walked to the Grand Hotel and showed Debbie, daughter-in-law the grand tour.  We ate there, not in the dining room for $40 a plate for lunch, but in the hallway for sandwiches and lunch items.  It was really fun to experience the grandeur of the historic site.  There were pictures on the wall of when the women wore long dresses with hats sitting on the porch.  It is a must see vacation spot.

It kept on raining and got down to 60 degrees.  Came back to the hotel, took a nap and hoped that the rain would stop so we could go back for dinner.  Never let up until the next day.  Went back to the island and rode bikes.  My granddaughter had a slight fever and rode slowly.  My husband rode a bike with the tag-along buggie on the back of his bike and struggled to ride it.  I wanted to ride around the whole island but was patient.

We had lunch, picked up a few souvenirs and went back to the room.  Went out to dinner that night and Debbie wanted to drive over the Mackinaw bridge.  It is 5 miles long and amazing the structure and a wonder how they built it over water so deep.

Next day drove to Traverse City and had to buy the cherries in season, walked around in town and headed home.  Well it is the weekend and just unpacked,  did the laundry and cleaned the house.  The life of a professional organizer.  Oh…I did keep the hotel room and car as neat as I could with 5 people in the room.

Funny Mother!

July 14th, My mother is 81 years old and when Oprah talked about signing a form to not text while driving, remember? She has a fit when I call her on the phone in my car when most of the time I use my bluetooth to speak to her. I keep trying to explain that it is just like she is sitting in the car and talking.

Well anyway, she brags to people and tells them that she signed Oprah’s form not to text and does not text while driving and speak on the phone while driving. But I said to her….mom, you don’t even own a cell phone!

Something New!

Posted in About Me, Filing and Neat Receipts, Uncategorized at 12:24 am by Administrator

June 21st, Went to my client office who is a Dr. , and she signed up on www.4sbc.com where she is a critic from business cards.  I added them into Neat Desk and scanned them into the software.  www.neatreceipts.com   If you are interested, please let me know and I will help you out.

Came home and did the laundry, watered all the flowers and plants, and straightened up the house.  I am going to have 4 ladies spend the night at my home for a week who are attending www.ihop.com which is International House of Prayer.  They are having a retreat and workshops to grow in the Lord.  This way if they are out of their own home they can feel like they are at a hotel and can concentrate on IHOP instead of problems and chores at home.

They will be arriving around 9:30 tonight and will leave at 8:30 am every day.  Quite a schedule they have!

Fathers Day!

June 20th, Started out going to church and took my husband to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch and I paid!.  He is such a great step father to my children and fantastic grandfather to my granddaughters.  Came home, curled my hair, wrapped both my boys gifts and went to my son’s home to give him his gift.  At 2:30 showed up at my brothers home to go to a graduation party.

I had fun talking to some of the relatives I have not seen in 2 years.  It is always great to see them for happy times instead of a funeral.  Came home, relaxed and watched TV with my hubby.

Playing cards with friends & Curves

Posted in About Me at 1:06 am by Administrator

June 2nd, once a month my 7 Christian friends, we play hand and foot cards which includes 2 games with lunch and dessert.  We give out a winner and loser prizes for the highest and lowest scores.  I was close to the bottom today.

Dropped off all my mission money at church from corporate sponsors and Sunday the church is having a Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for all the people going on mission trips.

Had my first training session at Curves, which I joined the other day.  Bally’s would not lower my fee after $25 years so did not renew.  I was sick of the same old routine and needed  change.  Curves said I would be down to a hour glass weight in 3 months working out 3 times a week.  Hope that it works out!

Came home, spent some time with my granddaughter, watching TV and resting.

Wedding

May 22nd my step daughter, Shannon was married to James at the Pine Knob Mansion.  It rained all day and at 3:00 it stopped raining, the sun came out and she had her outdoorwedding in the  gazebo.  We danced under the stars and the twinkling lights.

All of our children, 3 out of state, stayed at our house with their boyfriends over a week span.  Feeling exhausted and yet working 2 clients a day.  Can’t wait for the weekend to relax, plant my flowers outside and do whatever I want to do since the wedding is over.

Personal Day

April 7th, yesterday was my granddaughters 4th birthday so today we took her to Build A Bear at Somerset Mall and she picked out a doggie.  She wet her pants in the car and I did not know she was wet walking in this very rich mall!  I had to buy her a pair of pants and change her in the bathroom.  The pants keep falling down because they were too big at the waist.  I tucked all of her clothes and sweat jacket into her pants and they still  kept falling down.  Ended up using one of the bows from the doggie and tied it into a circle.  It ended up looking like a tail on her doggie.  It was so funny looking at it we kept laughing and she did not like it.

After that she wanted to go  Chuck E Cheese for her birthday.  I have not been there in 15 years and boy did it change.  The main attraction then was the stage show with the bears.  When it did come on with a real person dressed as a bear only adults were sitting at the tables and the kids were on all the rides.  What a joke!

Came home to relax and watch the grand finale of Shear Genius.

Sunday Day of Rest

Posted in About Me at 9:28 pm by Administrator

March 21st, started off the day going to church and my 4 year old granddaughter spent the night, she went to church with us.  She has advanced to the pre-school class.  After church attended a mission meeting that I was picked to go the Angel House in Detroit.  Went to another meeting for home fellowship groups in our home with a series “Truthful Project” from Focus on the Family.

Dined at Applebees, dropped off my grandaughter, then came home and took a nap.  (Um….I love a lazy day).  Got caught up on my email, twitter, linkin, facebook and blog.  What else are they going to invent to keep us any busier on our day off?  This is a job in it self.

I am on the Healing team at church and we have a service once a month at 6:00 which I am ready to leave.  The rest of my evening will be in front of the TV watching the apprentice.

Day Off

Posted in About Me at 12:31 am by Administrator

March 15th, spent the morning working on my email while my housekeeper was over cleaning.  My daughter-in-law and her mother came over to take a shower because my son gutted his bathroom and has not completed it.  My son Jason came over after they left and was upset because his girlfriend broke up with him with no explanation.  He bought her a rose and I found it in the garbage.  I took it out and put it in a vase.  No sense wasting it!

This is normal activity for me.  Had a doctor’s appointment at 2:30 and was running late to get my hair touched up, went to the bank, came home and ate.  Went into the home office and caught up on some work.  The best part is watching 20/20 “Inside the Bachelor”.

That is it for the day!

Julie & Julia Cooking

Posted in About Me at 1:00 am by Administrator

March 3rd, I wanted to make the Beef Broughon from Julia Child’s cookbook for the family out of state.  My daughter and I spent 1-1/2 hours preparing just the food to make it.  We had to fry bacon, saute onions, then onions and carrots, then onions and mushrooms, wash the meat, pat it dry and brown the meat before putting it all together.  It took 3 cups of burgundy wine (boy that was alot), cooked it 3 hours in the oven and boiled wide noodles to pour it on.

My son came over who is a cook and he said “I want to doctor it up”.  I said no way….we followed the recipe to the tee to make sure that it tasted just like hers.  He was a little offended but what the heck!  Everyone liked it but I will next time saute all the vegetables, all at one time and put all of it in the crock pot.  Julia did not have the modern conveniences and why not use them.  I loved the movie Julie and Julia and was an inspiration for me to cook something different.
